Kuretake Gansai Tambi Japanese Watercolour - Large Pan

Kuretake Gansai Tambi are traditional, handmade Japanese watercolours renowned for their intense colour, smooth performance, and versatility. Developed in collaboration with Japanese artists and hand-poured in Japan, these extra-large pans (4.5 × 2.5 cm) contain a high concentration of pigment, resulting in brilliantly luminous, highly lightfast colours with a uniquely creamy consistency.

More opaque than Western watercolours, Gansai Tambi paints offer excellent coverage, blend beautifully, and even perform well on dark paper, while still allowing for transparent washes when diluted with water.

Inspired by traditional sumi ink-making techniques, they dissolve effortlessly and create expressive, ink-like blurs ideal for illustration, sketching, sumi-e, manga, calligraphy, hand-lettering, botanical work, and more.

ACMI AP certified as non-toxic, these paints are safe for artists of all ages. Available as individual pans, Gansai Tambi watercolours make it easy to customise your palette or replace favourites as needed.
